The Emperor-
Ruled by- Aries
Keywords- Dominance, power, ruler, leadership, fatherhood
Appearance-
The appearance of the emperor as the name suggests he is seated on a throne with hand supports of ram, this is symbol for Aries and so this card carries Aries energy. The emperor is wearing a cloak that appears royal and a crown on his head symbolisng his power and richness. He is shown wearing his iron suit beneath his kingly clothes which isnt noticed at first sight but its still there signifying that he is protected from within by his inner strength and the strength of the ram, and outwardly appears with normal clothes. He is good with the good and ready and well-protected if bad comes his way.
He is the masculine energy following the empress, he has the symbol of ankh in his right hand that is the Egyptian symbol of life and its observer and its left has symbol of a globe which says he rules the earth, this maybe also signifying that he rules the world he is in; comprised of his family or if we see it from a larger point of view he rules over his mind, body and soul.
Meaning-
The card which holds masculine energy first of all points out to a fatherly figure in your life or somebody in charge or head of the family or head of some department who holds the control or needs to be taken permission of. He maybe astern or strict person with ruling capabilities. Is always strong from within but appears calm from above.
The Fool in the fool's journey has the Emperor as his Father. He provides the warmth, strength, security and confidence to face the world to the fool. The mother is responsible for the child's development emotionally whereas the father helps the child to face the world and make him self-confident in his abilities.
A card of grounding in the physical plane of male energy. The emperor brings stability to the desires of the empress. He rules and makes sure everybody under his rule are happy and satisfied He is the one in-charge and so wants things always done properly in a fine manner. He brings law and order for his people.
And emperor is very good in a leading role, a manager, an in charge, admin, where he can use his energy to fullest. He has fiery energy in him to make things happen correctly which is signified by the reddish-orange color of his background. He can be in charge care, protect and at times when he needs to fight for his people there too he would give his fullest as people trust him for his role.
Reversed-
The reversed emperor is the misuse of the powers of the emperor, tyranny or dominance to the people who are below him, or who trust him. This dominance can be from you or any one around you at your workplace or family; or seeing it from a deeper point of view the rigidness of certain beliefs that don't serve your purpose anymore maybe dominating your mind.
Or this may sometimes signify the change of authoritative figure around workplace, or a temporary substitute for it. The current in-charge may no longer be as worthy as he used to be before, and its time to change the figure.
This card when turns reversed in a relationship or family reading shows an authoritative figure who's too dominating trying to nullify the voice of others, you may have such a person in your environment who drops a shadow on your abilities due to his over-poweredness.
Lack of passion or compelling attitude towards your duties. The true spirit of your post maybe missing.
