Choosing a Deck

Choosing a right deck is the first and foremost important step in beginning your learning with the Tarot. Below are some points to keep under consideration to help you get the most comfortable deck as a beginner.

- Firstly you should feel attracted towards the deck and its imagery, only then you will be able to connect with the deck fully.

- When you get it then also check the size whether it fits comfortably into your palms or not. Sometimes size doesn't matter if we get our most favorite deck. But some people do bother much about size along with the design factor. The reason too is simple when you get into professional readings you will have to handle the deck for longer times, which would prove comfy for your hands if you get a normal sized deck.

- The deck should be Rider Waite based deck, this deck has 78 cards and mostly any clones or rider waite styled deck will have the images based on same meanings and so studying this course will prove easy for you.

- There are many decks that are very attractive and have more added to its normal rider - waite based imagery, I call them advanced decks which add more meanings to the deck. I advise you not to get into this deck when you are a beginner. After getting a proper hand over the Rider-Waite deck for about 2-3 years you can go to advanced versions of decks.
